We sincerely hope that you and yours are healthy and safe. Our hearts go out to all of you in this time of uncertainty.
We had hoped to have more clarity regarding our next steps in opening The Pinwheel before reaching out to patients, but now that we have been closed since mid-March, we are growing to accept that we don't have the answers to those questions yet, and we won't have those answers for quite some time.
Weighing the risk of exposure to novel coronavirus with the health benefits of acupuncture is our main priority, and we have decided that, at this time, we will remain closed until we have a better sense of how this pandemic will play out in our community.
We do know that we will continue to provide affordable, accessible acupuncture to the corridor community again, though we don't know when we can safely do so, or what it will look like once we do. When we reopen, we will not be working out of the same location on Hwy 1. Good ventilation will be key to a healthy clinic and our space had only two windows, neither of which could be opened.
One way that we can continue to provide health care to the community is through phone consultation and prescription of Chinese herbs. Once we get the details worked out, we will send a newsletter with information about how you can access tele-medicine with The Pinwheel. We are excited to offer this new service - Jersey is a bit of an "herb nerd" and looks forward to serving patients in this new way.
Some of you purchased gift certificates before we closed and we would like to offer you refunds for those. Please send us an email and let us know if you'd like a refund and we'll happily get that to you.
Sending love to you and yours,
Jersey and Sophia Rivers
